The Federal government of Pakistan has announced a 40 percent of the Sui Gas Field’s profit will be shared with Baluchistan province.
Furthermore, in this regard, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and the Baluchistan government will ink the agreement. According to details after the proposal being accepted, the province will receive approximately 6 billion per annum as revenue generated from Sui gas.
Moreover, the PPL power department officials revealed, along with 40 percent of the total revenue acquired from the Sui gas field. The Baluchistan province will get Rs20 billion arrears from the Pakistan Petroleum Limited.
National Finance Commission Award and 18 amendments: an update!
Earlier on 26 April 2020, the federal government decided to call on the 18 amendments and the National Finance Commission (NFC) award. While several political parties assured their support, to whom the federal government had contacted in this regard.
Meanwhile, Asad Umer, the Minister for Planning and Development, said, some flaws had been seen in the 18 amendments. However, he clarified the federal government has no intention to take back any authorities from provinces. While for the progress of Pakistan, the center wants to work in collaboration with provinces.
However, the National Finance Commission Award(NFC) was launched to equally managed the finance between all four provinces of Pakistan and to take control of financial imbalances. At the same time, the 18 amendments of the Pakistani constitution were established by the National Assembly of Pakistan in 2010. This amendment turned Pakistan from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary republic.
How much royalty does Baluchistan receive in Five years?
According to official data revealed in 2019, during the last five years from 2013-14 to 2017-18, approximately Rs 23.9 billion and Rs 0.09 billion royalty on account of oil and gas have been given to the Baluchistan province.
The report also revealed that during the period under review, Sui Southern Gas Company(SSGC) deposited Rs11.488 billion in general sales tax. At the same time, Sui Northern Gas Company Limited (SNGPL) has paid Rs 25.922 billion of taxes.
